– Using geographic and empirical data analysis, survey research, focus groups, and individual interviewing, Reinventing Communities works with stakeholders to assess their current social, economic, and cultural assets and potential for growth. We take a holistic view that community members’ health and well-being depend on their economic well-being, a safe and healthy physical environment — AND on their community’s social stability and vitality.
– Reinventing Communities works with stakeholders to design a financial plan that provides forward progress using cautious economic forecasts and sound financial management principles. We work to identify and garner support from local, regional, state, and federal sources. Reinventing Communities will prepare and help community organizations identify and develop financial resources that can then be used as a foundation for additional public and private financing and to scale programs to financial sustainability.
– Throughout the United States, communities engage in programs to improve housing affordability, increase and stabilize working families’ incomes, improve population health, and rejuvenate neighborhoods and cities. Reinventing Communities recognizes and understands the connections among these four policy domains.
Reinventing Communities helps community leaders at every level to understand, adapt, and apply best practice models in these domains to address needs simultaneously and garner benefits widely. Our best practice catalogue and evaluations streamline community development efforts and enable an immediate focus on community progress.
— Because we help communities create better homes and sustainable development, we identify and engage an evaluation road map that tracks community progress from its planning stages, through program implementation, and at regular intervals going forward. Our evaluation model uses within-community retrospective evaluations along with comparative assessments from other communities. On-going planning and evaluation inform program adaptions and policy advocacy, support renewed financial underwriting and grants, and sustain growth and development.
